2018 YEP Directors’ Update

By Angelica Donati, Donati Immobilaire, YEP Global

Leaping into 2018!

2017 was a year of significant growth for YEP Global, and we have great expectations for 2018.

YEP has been a London success story for over 15 years, since its foundation in 2002. In this time, it has established itself as the go-to networking group for young professionals in real estate. YEP’s unique USP is that it is cross-disciplinary, meaning that its members can connect with their counterparts across real estate disciplines, and create the basis for a very strong industry network that will last them their whole careers. Because YEP’s members network with their peers, it is the perfect environment to forge meaningful relationships that can grow as they grow.

In 2017, YEP Chairman Johnny Clayton felt it was time to take YEP to the next level, expanding it beyond its London territory. He recruited Sophie Eastwood and myself to set up a corporate structure for YEP, to support its expansion across the UK (and beyond) and provide a point of contact and continuity for all YEP Global chapters.

In 2017, we had several exciting milestone events. We surpassed 4,500 members. New chapters were successfully launched in Cambridge and Manchester, and the UAE chapter was also re-launched that year. We established a relationship with the British Property Federation, as well as reinforcing YEP’s already strong ties with LandAid, Centre for Cities, and Estates Gazette (which also gave us our own podcast and magazine coverage!).

Now, in 2018, we are excited to say things will only get bigger and better!

We will be working closely with EG, in order to leverage their initiatives across the UK, such as the EG Question Time events, for the benefit of YEP members. We are working closely with YEP Global partners across London and the UK to help us provide ever more content and initiatives for our members.

Last, but not least, I am proud to say that in 2018 YEP will be launching new chapters in the following UK cities: Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield and Southampton, bringing the total of active YEP chapters to a whopping 14! We will also be working on expanding YEP outside the UK, as well as on plans for setting up YEP Connect, an online networking platform for YEP members, partners and affiliates.

The YEP Board is committed to continuing to grow YEP and make it the principal platform for young leaders in real estate, and we are grateful to all YEP members who share this vision. We hope many more will join the YEP family in 2018, signing for existing chapters or helping set up new ones, and continuing to spread the voice of young leaders in property.
