YEP pledges support to LandAid’s Network Against Homelessness

In the midst of a pandemic, the challenges we faced before Covid-19 don’t disappear. As I write this there are 110,000 young people facing homelessness in the UK.

This is a shocking number and one of the reasons YEP has supported LandAid for many years, raising money and doing all we can.

Now, we want to do even more and have joined its latest initiative, Networks Against Homelessness #LandAidNetwork.

LandAid is the UK’s property industry charity with a vision to end youth homelessness. It brings the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future.

When LandAid told us that they were launching a new initiative, Networks Against Homelessness, to garner the support of the various membership and networking groups across our sector, uniting us through a single goal to tackle the problem, we didn’t hesitate to sign up.

We are delighted to announce that YEP has made a pledge to be a LandAid ambassador.

We will focus at least one event a year on LandAid and promote it through our newsletters, website and social media.

We will invite LandAid to attend our events and speak to our members so you can see how your support is helping.

We will share opportunities with you, our members, to donate to LandAid and get involved in fundraising activity – read on for information about the SleepOut event taking place this month.

Along with the other networks that have made the same pledge, which number a dozen now, we can make an enormous difference.

SleepOut at Home

LandAid’s SleepOut at Home is taking place on 11th March. You can sign up now, from just £20pp. LandAid : SleepOut.

If you don’t have access to outside space, you can get creative – the only stipulation is that you sleep in the most uncomfortable place you can.

Please share your stories using #LandAidSleepOut @GlobalYEP and via your local chapter.  Feel free to send a blog for the website to with pictures of your sleep out.

The more we can help spread the word, the bigger the impact we can have.
